This year more than ever, the winter vacations are eagerly awaited, the ski resorts are full of reservations.
The sanitary measures are lifted little by little, and the pandemic seems to be temporarily out of our daily concerns.
So let’s take advantage of it!
If you don’t plan to leave or if you come to Paris to spend your vacations, I have prepared some ideas for you.
1-Family vacations:
Two websites and an app with dozens of ideas for family outings and activities for children.
The essential app for parents with ideas and content updated regularly : YAMS stands for “Y en A Marre du Squarre ! ” Tired of the s
A very well known site Sortir à Paris: a bit too c”ommercial” with the not always original must-sees, but you will find the great classics as well as cultural and sports activities and with articles dedicated to kids.
The site FamilyinParis is very complete with activities for young and old, proposals for the small budgets, reductions, full of original ideas to discover Paris.
Lisa from Flavors of Paris has already proposed an article with great ideas of activities to do with your kids : How to visit Paris with kids
2-What to do in Paris (without kids)
Until the end of the night
For the most nocturnal and clubbers among us, great news this wednesday the clubbing have just reopened of course you will need a sanitary pass to enter but then the night is yours.
I must confess that the world of the night became unknown to me but I found you the siteParisBouge to find the ideal place to unchain you.
Where to relax in Paris and beyond
No vacations in the tropics for you, no thalassotherapy in St Malo, no worries, in Paris you’ll find the SPA that will make you travel?
I strongly recommend you to read [one of my old blogpost about it with my favorite spas in Paris.
Another possibility is to escape from Paris and offer yourself a luxury and relaxing interlude in a castle at one hour from Paris. Vogue magazine has just prepared a small list of places that should guarantee a change of scenery and relaxation.
Cultural outings in Paris and beyond
Once again I’ll refer you to the very good website of Enlarge your Paris which offers you the best selection of cultural or sport activities in the Greater Paris area, the opportunity to discover unusual places and the richness of the Ile de France.
But if you prefer to “play at home”, Paris will not disappoint you!
There are plenty of new exhibitions:
Orsay : James McNeill Whistler (1834-1903), Chefs-d’œuvre de la Frick Collection, New York
Pompidou :
Bourse du Commerce
Charles Ray (again)
Musée du Luxembourg
Pionnières – Artistes dans le Paris des années folles
Marmottan :
Julie Manet an impressionist heritage
Philarmonie :
Maillol :
And if you are a fan of Yves Saint Laurent, you are very lucky as you can see his work in 6 of the most famous museum in Paris
My personal recommendation as I have seen those exhibitions are:
The Thierry Mugler exhibition at MAD even if you are not fan of his style the exhibtion is really worth it.
And the splendid Morozov exhibition at the LVMH Foundation has been extended until April 3rd
This weekend, I propose you the perfect opportunity to discover the great ephemeral Grand Palais and to dive into art with the Art Capital exhibition. Why don’t you go and say hello to my friend Alex Hillkurtz who exhibits his fabulous watercolors of Parisian paintings.
What about a gourmet tour ?
For a change from the traditional guided tours of the neighborhood, why not try a gourmet or gastronomic tour to discover the best pastry chefs in Paris or a cheese and wine tasting!
I recommend you the Tours concocted by Lisa for Flavors of Paris .
She will give you all the best tips to go for food shopping in Paris. I hope you find the activity that suits you best and of course I look forward to your feedback.
