This year the arrival of the summer holidays surprised me as I have the feeling that I went directly from March to July.

The summer activities in the capital as everywhere else in the world will be different. Many festivals have been cancelled and many  outtings will remain closed. But let’s stay positive and trust the creative people of this city to concoct a festive summer for us.

The summer of 2020 may be the best opportunity for Parisians to discover their city and make it their own. Tourists won’t be there so it’s summer or never to go up to the Eiffel Tower without fear of queueing or  visit the famous catacombs without having to face the usually impressive queues.

It will be easier to find a “Transat” at Parisplage or a place on the most beautiful Parisian terraces and rooftops.

Paris will regain its seaside resort allure during the summer season from July 18th to the end of August. Of course, the facilities will be adapted to the sanitary rules in force. Little information to date on the program and activities offered. Of course the concerts on the square in front of the town hall as part of the Fnac Live festival are cancelled.

So I’m opening a series of articles on summer in Paris: Doing sports in the open air, tasting a home-made ice cream, the best terraces to chill out, summer outings…
